As the founder and owner of the Roger Kesterke Insurance Agency, 106 S. Main Street, Berrien Springs, he knows that quality service and products can bring in quality customers.

"This agency has grown through the years and we've worked hard to cultivate its success," Roger said. "I feel blessed and very fortunate that we have a great quality of clientele."

The Roger Kesterke Insurance Agency first opened its doors on August 15, 1980, committed to providing clients with the best service possible.

"Although we are an average-sized agency, we are still able to provide face-to-face service for our customers," Roger said. "On all of our out-going mail we attach a sticker that states, 'Your Policy comes with an Agent.' We believe in honesty and integrity," he added. "When a person walks in our door a person should know we will handle their insurance like it was our own."

"It's important to give back to the community," he said. "I was born and raised here and know the community very well. I feel fortunate to be here." Roger is the former president of Berrien Spring's Chamber of Commerce, former chairman of a number of school advisory committees and past president of the St. Gabriel's Catholic Church parish council. He's also an avid supporter of Berrien High School and Michigan State University athletics.

His greatest enjoyment is spending time with his wife, Kathy, their two grown children, John and Amy, their spouses, Denise and Tim, and his granddaughters, Autumn, Sage, and Sydney.

Roger has been fortunate over the years in that he has had a very capable and service-oriented group of people who have worked with him in the office.

Melissa Schilke joined the office staff in October 2002 after having worked as a customer service representative for Fifth Third Bank. She attended the insurance school at Michigan State University and earned her insurance license in February 2003. Melissa is a very people-oriented person who is dedicated to conducting business by the Golden Rule. Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband, Ryan, and their daughters, Hunter, Kylee, Jailyn, and Marley. In addition, she enjoys scrapbooking and taking pictures.

Diane Springer has worked part-time since March 1998 and came to the office with 10 years of experience with an insurance agency in Minnesota. She and her husband Arlen, who works at Andrews University, also reside in Berrien Springs.
